CORDOS proudly partnered with Vireo Health, one of New York State’s leading multi-state operators (MSOs), to build a state-of-the-art, 320,000 sq. ft. cannabis cultivation and processing facility in Johnstown, NY. Set on 97 acres of land once home to the Tryon Juvenile Detention Center, this project marks a significant step forward in the cannabis industry, designed in anticipation of New York's evolving recreational cannabis legislation. The facility, valued at over $75 million, features cutting-edge technology, sustainable construction practices, and a central hydronic plant to enhance operational efficiency. Despite challenges like extensive demolition, asbestos abatement, supply chain delays, and a mid-project redesign, CORDOS expertly navigated the complexities to keep the project on track.
With an innovative design-build process, CORDOS collaborated closely with engineers, local utilities, and suppliers to ensure a seamless construction timeline. This cannabis cultivation hub is one of the largest in the region, leading the industry in advanced growing techniques, environmental sustainability, and adherence to stringent industry regulations. Upon completion in Q2 2024, Vireo’s facility will not only produce high-quality cannabis but also serve as a benchmark for the future of large-scale cultivation, blending nature and technology to meet the needs of the ever-growing cannabis market.
